PRINCE2 adaptation for MES-implementation project

The demand for MES-systems is significantly increasing nowadays in the Russian and world markets. MES information systems provide IT services to support the operational management of production processes, which form the basis of the finished product cost. MES implementation projects are particularly complex, as they are often introduced into the existing enterprise architecture and are designed to be an effective link between the technological preparation and production on the one hand and ERP systems on the other. This paper discusses the key challenges of MES implementation projects, analyses particular elements of PRINCE2 standard and their adaptability for IT projets, and describes the way of adaptation of PRINCE2 key elements to manage implementation of MES by 1C — one of the most famous information system developers in Russia. The adaptation proposed can form the basis of a unified methodology of 1C MES-solutions implementation approach, which currently does not exist.

Digital retail transformation: architectural approach

Practice shows that at the same time, as traditional retail sales decline, the e-commerce market has been growing steadily since 2007. The efficiency of this distribution channel depends on the chain of connected business-processes of delivery from the supplier to the final buyer. Without proper coordination of these processes, efficient retailing is difficult. The retail trade procedures are based on the integrated interaction of information technology, large data technologies, Internet Things and newly emerging technologies. This article provides an overview of the e-commerce market, the role of IT in it, the practice of using IT in the channels for the provision and distribution of goods, and the actual requirements of customers for the services of the reseller. On the basis of the obtained data on the current practices of IT architecture management, it is necessary to develop reference models for retail enterprises. At the moment, there are developed reference models of companies in the field of retail sales, taking into account the use of the mentioned information technologies and services, such as IoT and Big Data. After analyzing the results of the work done, it is possible to develop reference architecture models using modern Internet technologies Things and Big Data based on the development of integration platforms and applicable to any information systems and services providers based on the best retail practices.

Function-oriented approach to mining enterprise automation

Nowadays a production enterprise is inconceivable without the automation of all its processes – technological, production, and managerial. The efficiency of an enterprise largely depends on high-quality data processing within a single information space. The introduction of an integrated automated management system for an industrial enterprise, consistent with the business model, will eliminate many of the problems arising during creation, integration and development of automated systems, will create an effective enterprise management system and will reduce future costs of production modernization. Current trends of digital transformation increase the demand for an integrated business management system model, that would include a model of an integrated information management system as an integral part of it. The study aims to develop a reference functional model of mining enterprises, including a comprehensive vision of business, production and technological processes and their IT support. The model proposed is based on the analysis of existing international industry approaches to automation, as well as the experience and best practices of automation of mining enterprises. The methodological foundations of the research include enterprise architecture approach (including the concept of service-oriented architecture) and authors' function-oriented approach for engineering the IT architecture. The article describes a reference functional model of a mining enterprise, on the basis of which the structure of the mining enterprise IT-architecture functional structure is determined. The function-oriented approach for engineering IT-architecture as a reflection of the business functional structure is a good example of the symmetry phenomena in enterprise management. Further research will be devoted to the issues of designing an information exchange model and a data architecture model for the mining value chain and its individual parts in interconnection, as well as reflecting end-to-end processes of mining enterprises in the IT architecture based on the developed model for determining the boundaries of functional blocks of information systems.
