IT business

E-commerce

Author: I. Kotlyarov

An approach to the notions of ‘e-company’, ‘traditional company’, ‘virtual company’ and ‘network company’ definitions is suggested. Distinguishing principle between electronic and traditional businesses on the basis of in-house and external flows is proposed. Modern business models classification using two criteria is introduced. Grouping companies on the basis of considering traditional and electronic business instruments use is presented.

IT management

Project management

Web-based projects are systems that implement logical set of steps aiming to take advantages of Internet regarding commercial company goals. The accuracy of evaluating the effectiveness of online projects is not just cost dependant but is determined also on results and costs comparing methods applied. The paper suggests various criteria of Web-based projects for tourist companies’ economic efficiency based on methodology of information systems with different functionality total cost of ownership.

Two-step procedure based on fuzzy cognitive simulation built team-building methodology for implementation of IT projects is suggested. Initially applicants’ levels of competency are assessed using test technologies and after that the optimal project tasks assignments to executives is determined.

IT and education

Training technologies

Author: A. Shemetova

Forms and methods of teaching programming university students for the course «Computer Science» based on modern information technology are discussed. Author believes that combination of object-oriented and system-oriented approaches meets the requirements of the discipline learning most of all.

Software engineering

Network Technologies

Monitoring systems

Author: A. Sokolov

Computer network site model and techniques of obtaining information on processing time and data transmission in particular elements of this network are presented. Basic monitoring programs for receiving information on a network condition are considered.

Software development technologies

An approach to data structure description simplifying data processing and increasing application efficiency is presented. Principle of the binary addressing is used for cube dichotomy data structuring.

Algorithmic efficiency

Author: A. Zemcov

Comparative analysis of popular image compression methods based on discrete cosine transform and fractal coding is presented. Image compression principles incorporating these approaches are discussed. The obtained results make it clear the promise of fractal coding technique implementation for image compressing tasks.

An approach to static code analysis that allows race conditions detecting is described. The method focuses on real tasks with complex code constructs, including loops and branches. The method proposed is based on a simulation of multi-threaded application performance and analysis of the model. The model is suitable for real-world problems, which are defined as those where the logic and the notion of correctness attached to the concrete values of variables and history of operations on shared variables rather than to their pair-wise comparisons.

Simulation

Theory and practice

Author: V. Boev

The adequacy issues of the GPSS World and Any-Logic simulation systems are considered on the basis of the application process simulation results. Since Any-Logic unlike GPSS and, in particular, its GPSS World version does not yet has a long practice history model construction techniques in AnyLogic environment are discussed in more detail.

Technical state analysis of control objects task is being considered. An approach based on simulation of objects operation with stationary random processes in the form of Fourier series in AnyLogic environment is suggested and stationarity of the processes validated. This method dramatically increases the efficiency of decision-making processes while emergency situations preventing.

Development concepts

Author: A. Emelyanov

simulation solutions in science, engineering and technology, decision support systems and risk management. The legal form of the society is a nonprofit partnership. The established society goals meet the needs of various economy sectors bodies.

Author: V. Devyatkov

The paper describes the composition, structure and functions of a professional Simulation & Modeling (S&M) society. It enumerates the main international and national societies, published magazines and conferences. The analysis of the current state of S&M and prospects of its development in Russia is given.

Laboratory

Decision support systems

Features of organizational system (OS) elements interaction in the presence of hierarchy of objectives and initial information uncertainty are considered. The base OS model that explains the principles used for coordination of elements behavior strategies. The model based on game approach and the fuzzy logic is proposed. Initial conditions of compromise situations existence and formation of functional subsystems of OS are formulated.

Technology experiments

Author: D. Roshchin

The structure, algorithms, hardware-software means of a special software package for a system that compares objects with templates are described. This functionality supports such tasks as computer-aided products quality control, computer-aided production data control system and computer-aided design subsystem. Application of methods of digital processing of images and spatial orientation of objects for construction of system providing objects and templates comparison is considered.

Network Technologies

Monitoring systems

Author: D. Silnov

Technique for efficiency estimation of remote monitoring systems protection is proposed. The approach uses T. Saati method and is based on selecting the main criteria with further significance evaluating.
